Heyhey!
Passing down was quite fun running around right?:)
I thought the most epic thing was that the first group to leave was the last group to be back from the race whereas the last group to leave was the first. WOW.
Anyway,
The new committee members are:

To JH & SH
SYF may be/can be/is overrated. (I have this odd feeling that I will get whacked for saying this.)
Sometimes, we don't have to benchmark ourselves against others to prove that we are good. You guys did a great job!! And I believe that I am not the first to say this right. Haha..
Anyway, since I have this odd feeling that I will get whacked, can I not put my name here?

By the way. I forgot to smack Darryl's butt for calling me short today! Zzz. (Sometimes, we don't have to benchmark ourselves against others to prove that we are not short.)
And if there is one thing that I really took away from this year's SYF... the strong bond you guys (by that I mean the entire 筝团) share is really touching. :)

Today was like a rollercoaster ride!
Excitement for the senior high’s syf, nervousness for them, proud of their awesomeness, anticipation with whole zheng while listening to the syf results in republic poly, linking arms with each other.
Heartbreak when JH zheng got gold. Heart shatter when SH zheng got gold..
Everyone cried ):
But in my freaking opinion, we did the best we could and we got gold.
Thats more than enough as we were there for each other, we hugged each other, we cried and laughed with each other, we did our zheng WHOOSH, we cheered,for ourselves!
Great job done to other schools too though!
Looking at the other schools who cheered and screamed their heads off when their school got gold, and looking at ourselves, i couldn’t help but wonder why were our reactions so different?
Maybe its because of our high expectations and the confidence our dear teachers had in us…
Just can’t help feeling emo and depressed, FOR NOW.
but its not bad, from this whole process of SYF i felt strong strong zheng love.

Darryl:good job 人们! don’t care what other ppl think, but we were definitely the best 2 teams there! damn happy to have been through this with you guys! saying that he’s sad seeing that we’re sad

They jeered and mocked, and through it we sulked.
No one believed in us, all because of a curse,
the curse that hurt, that upset, that pierced,
our delicate hearts.
So we start. We start working hard, making our way to the top.
But we stop, is this what its all about?
Giving our best just for the results?
Practice is all but without,
The love for our music, and it makes us sick.
So what if you are able to play with a stick?
So what if you can play it doubly quick! I don’t give a ****!
Because this is not what we came for, not what we saw,
the change of the law, the music without withdraw.
Its the music that left us in awe. And though should we crawl,
we wont brawl, but we will make it past that wall.
That’s all that matters, as we go about destroying our haters.

The seeds of our efforts will blossom into sturdy and proud flowers, the very seeds which survived the strong winds, rain and thunder, which so desired to pull us down. Tomorrow, with immeasurable fortitude we will march into the battlefield. We will exhibit what our masters had so painstakingly taught us, as with our sharpened swords we penetrate through enemy defenses, sweeping across this dark, fearful battlefield with our radiance, igniting the enemy forces, before finishing them with a Coup de grâce; a blade through their hearts, the very hearts which held on to the belief of our failures. Now they knew they had all thought wrong. Tomorrow we will emerge triumphant and victorious. Tomorrow we ShowDown.
boonxuan:okok..the old fart's here to give a 'speech'..ANW! i heard about the results and it might not (is not) the one that you guys have been expected and everything and i know that you guys have been really upset about it.
my thoughts are that, for JH, i SERIOUSLY think you guys should be awarded GWH..you guys totally pwned the 2 groups before you and you guys sounded very good..:) whatever the results are, it's ok..gold is good also. Also, ttk also mentioned, what's the point of a competition? it's not about winning it. it's about having fun, participating. when you leave dhs, you no longer would be practicing with this group anymore, and you're gonna miss it. so, when u are here, just enjoy it and have fun with your friends. results are not important.:P
to SH, i thought u guys were awesome..some mistakes but not obvious..and i think we lost cuz our size of the group is too small..since its about qishi, we lost at that, but gold is the next highest which you have attained.AND, it's the first time SH actually joined SYF, and already got gold. so imagine the next few batches going for SYF, GWH is not far away.
and also! last piece of something..HAHA..:/ its seriously not about winning. it's the fun and all that you get to spend with your friends. you guys are lovely people and just enjoy the years you have in DHS.

Here's a not-very-motivational speech
Greetings, comrades.
Please practice well for the Singapore Youth Festival tomorrow. Remember everything Comrade Yanlei has told us, and apply it to the instrument in hand. We have come a long way since last year when we started learning these two songs; please do your best, and live up to YOUR OWN expectations, because I am sure they are quite high, no?
The key to success is a positive attitude, a.k.a the "excellence mindset". I understand that I am repeating what others have said, but repetition is necessary to get ideas across.
So, play well, and peace off ☮.
